Holy Spirit Baptism

Holy Spirit Baptism

Acts 1:8 NKJV
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Revival – an improvement in the condition or strength of; an instance of something becoming important again (our relationship with God)

Revelation 2:4-5 NKJV
4 Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. 5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.

1. Remember when God was #1 in your life.
2. Repent – turn, change, remove anything that separates us from God
3. Return to behaving and living like Christ

Acts 1:8 NKJV
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

If we are to awaken, we must be filled, or baptized, in the Holy Spirit.

John 20:22 NKJV
22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

1. One is learned
2. One is a gift—a promise
Acts 1:4 – “wait for the promise of the Father”
Acts 2:38 – “and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”

Why do I need this gift?
1. Jesus said it is a gift He is giving us

Luke 11:13 NKJV
13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

2. You will receive power

3. You can pray perfect, supernatural prayers

4. You build yourself up – power to live a holy life

1 Corinthians 14:4
He who speaks in a Tongue edifies himself…

5. It provides spiritual refreshing- Isaiah 28

6. It brings tongue under subjection- James 3

7. It brings victory over our flesh life

Luke 11:13 NKJV
13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

Matthew 5:6 NKJV
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.

I Corinthians 14:5 NKJV
5 I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification.
