WHAT’S THE POINT Week 2
Eager to Edify Philippians 1:10 NLT 10 For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return.
Philippians 1:11 NLT 11 May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ —for this will bring much glory and praise to God.
Matthew 22:35-40 NLT 35 One of them, an expert in religious law, tried to trap him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?” 37 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
1 Thessalonians 5:11 NIV 11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
Hebrews 10:23-25 NIV 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
I. INFLUENCE
let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds DON’T FOCUS ON THE PRESENCE OF HATE, FOCUS ON THE ABSENCE OF LOVE!
1. Write down one person in your life that doesn’t know Jesus.
2. Start praying for them.
3. Invite them to church.
4. Look for opp to share your story or testify to God’s goodness in your life.
II. INSPIRE
Don’t give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. OUR PURPOSE WILL BE MOST PRONOUNCED BY OUR PARTICIPATION IN THE CHURCH.
