Super Sunday

SUPER SUNDAY | Take A Knee

Philippians 2:6-13 NIV 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! 9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.

1. WHAT HAS MY KNEE?

Philippians 2:8 NIV 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!

2. WHO DESERVES MY KNEE?

Philippians 2:9-11 NIV 9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

3. WHY DOES MY KNEE MATTER?

Philippians 2:10-11 NIV 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Encountering Jesus

ENCOUNTERING JESUS | Week 4:

Instinctual Influence

John 4:25-26 NIV 25 The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.” 26 Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you—I am he.”

1. HAVE CONFIDENCE IN THE CALL

John 4:27 NIV 27 Just then his disciples returned and were surprised to find him talking with a woman. But no one asked, “What do you want?” or “Why are you talking with her?”

John 4:39 NIV 39 Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.”

2. PRIORITIZE HIS PURPOSE

John 4:28-29 NIV 28 Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, 29 “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?”

The world has tried to make us the group that talks about EVERYTHING BUT our beliefs.

3. UNLEASH AND SENSE OF URGENCY

John 4:29-30 NIV 29 “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?” 30 They came out of the town and made their way toward him.

John 4:35 NIV 35 Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.

4. EXPECT THE ENCOUNTER TO EVOLVE

John 4:40-42 NIV 40 So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days. 41 And because of his words many more became believers. 42 They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.”
