Good News Pt. 2

Good News Pt. 2

Luke 2:10 NKJV 10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.

Luke 2:11 NKJV 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

Watch your words. Make sure your words bring good news to people.

John 17:20 NKJV 20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word;

I Peter 3:1 NKJV 1 Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives,

As believers and followers of Christ, we need to share the good news in word and conduct.

II Kings 6:24 NKJV 24 And it happened after this that Ben-Hadad king of Syria gathered all his army, and went up and besieged Samaria.

II Kings 6:28-29 NKJV 28 Then the king said to her, “What is troubling you?” And she answered, “This woman said to me, ‘Give your son, that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow.’ 29 So we boiled my son, and ate him. And I said to her on the next day, ‘Give your son, that we may eat him’; but she has hidden her son.”

II Kings 7:2-4 NKJV 2 So an officer on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God and said, “Look, if the Lord would make windows in heaven, could this thing be?” And he said, “In fact, you shall see it with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it.” 3 Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate; and they said to one another, “Why are we sitting here until we die? 4 If we say, ‘We will enter the city,’ the famine is in the city, and we shall die there. And if we sit here, we die also. Now therefore, come, let us surrender to the army of the Syrians. If they keep us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall only die.”

The lesson is: don’t sit around until you die! Get up and do something. II Kings 7:9 NKJV 9 Then they said to one another, “We are not doing right. This day is a day of good news, and we remain silent. If we wait until morning light, some punishment will come upon us. Now therefore, come, let us go and tell the king’s household.”

1. Don’t make choices you may regret the rest of your life during a bad time.

2. In bad times, you may not be able to look to the normal sources of help.

3. Seek God. Pray for a word from Him.

4. Don’t question God’s ability like the king’s officer did – “If God could make windows in heaven, He still couldn’t turn things around in one day”.

5. Get up and do something.

Malachi 3:10 NKJV 10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.
